Tracy started the chat talking a bit about the timing of the meeting, and the availability of those who responded to her Google form. We plan to alternate meeting times and formats to give all families the opportunity to attend.
Attendees are list above in the “people” property.
Spirit Week - February 6-10th, 2023
National African American Parent Involvement Day - February 10th, 2023
A day to celebrate all families in schools - any and all families are invited to come [in the morning]. Staff has curated a variety of activities, including a shared read-along book, called ____.
Coffee/donuts with the principal - get to know Tracy.
Meet and greet for families to interact - 9:30-10:30ish
Our date is adjusted to the 10th because of our intersession schedule (as compared to the district NAAPID day).
Example mission statements - Tracy read some aloud to us from a simple Google search.
What are our values?
Tracy really embraces the idea of rotating roles for things like facilitating meetings. We can step up to share responsibility without fearing that it will all be on our shoulders.
Thoughts on operating (Angela’s, not discussed much in meeting):
Without a traditional board in place at this time, how can we create systems for fair/functional operation of a PTO?
Accounting/Treasury - could be a rotating role with a Standard Operating Procedure/Work Instruction (SOP/WI) to follow and peer review/quality assurance built in.
Decisions/consensus building - vote on budget plans/big decisions via Google Forms? Does the whole student body of families vote?
Communications - items for newsletter submission, social media posting, email communications
